Q.1 Describe the evolutionary process of organization design and different perspectives of organization design and their relevance.

Ans : Organization Design is a formal, guided process for integrating the people, information and technology of an organization. It is used to match the form of the organization as closely as possible to the purpose(s) the organization seeks to achieve. Through the design process, organizations act to improve the probability that the collective efforts of members will be successful.
Typically, design is approached as an internal change under the guidance of an external facilitator. Managers and members work together to define the needs of the organization then create systems to meet those needs most effectively. The facilitator assures that a systematic process is followed and encourages creative thinking.



Q.2 Explain the meaning and purpose of Job design and briefly discuss the impact technology has on Job design.

Ans : A systematic attempt to design work was first made in the wake of emergence of machine technology and mass production system immediately after industrial revolution in Western Europe. Since then several experiments in this field have been carried out at different times by different enterprises around the world. In India too as elsewhere, the need to bring about changes in the way work is organized has a risen from the following socio-economic conditions:

(1) Organisations, today, are increasingly getting automated and using new technology to attain the organizational objectives of increased efficiency



Q.3 Discuss the purpose of organizational analysis and briefly describe the tools which could be used for organizational analysis and their effectiveness.

Ans :  Purpose of organizational analysis:

An organizational analysis is a tool used when trying to improve an organization's efficiency. Organizational analysis looks at the structure and design of an organization and how this influences outputs. Additional internal and external factors can also be accounted for in assessing how to improve efficiency.
The proliferation of complex organizations has made most human activities collective endeavours. The collectives manage the input and output in order to create private or public good. Ans : Organizational change occurs when business strategies or major sections of an organization are altered. It is defined as a change that has significant effects on the way work is performed in an organization. Organizational change may be apparent when there is a gap between how the work area is operating and how it should be operating to ensure successful future growth.
